UNlosing the SELF after losing a memory.

You have buried your precious memory.
You feel its radiating warmth under your right shoe.
You hear it singing sweetly from underground, slightly muffled by black soil.
You feel the trees towering around you, drops of water falling onto you from their great, mossy limbs.
You are lost in the big forest.
You are still blindfolded.
You are feeling a bit queasy from all of that spinning and disorientation that got you here in the first place.

You can't go back the way you came. That's impossible.

And if you DO manage to find your way home from this sacred place in any way that can be retraced, the temptation to go back and retrieve the buried memory will be too great. And you CAN'T do that. As it is, the memory's sad, muffled song will haunt you even in your forgetfulness.

And so how DO you UNlose yourself?
Can you?

I will sit here in the dark woods and consider my predicament.
Luckily I brought some cookies.
