Book Eaters.

Lovely Rachel Herman just today told me about Pestival, a festival of art, science and bugs that's going on in London as we speak. As I was checking out the Pestival website, I came across this amazing project by Mark Cockram, where he makes books, smears them with Bovril (a salty meat extract that can be found in the UK), and buries them in the ground. Over time, ground-dwelling insects eat them up and turn them into beautiful objects like this:
