Huge, Spiky Penises Are Better.

(Image from National Geographic.)

You may have caught this a while ago via National Geographic: Torture Phalluses Give Beetles a Breeding Boost. For male seed beetles, the longer and spikier the penis, the better the chances of fertilizing lots of eggs. One species of seed beetle even has jaws on his penis that can grasp the inner genitalia of the female. These "torture phalluses" damage the females internally, but then the ladies heal and are left with scar tissue. Doesn't this sound romantic?
